Solar power for manufacturing and grid use
There has been a significant surge in clean energy awareness and use in the production of goods. Big brands have been expanding their manufacturing facilities' solar power generation capacity to minimize their carbon footprint.
Recently, Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa has announced plans to expand its solar power generation capacity. Out of 13 manufacturing units, seven of them use solar power to operate. The company is now targeting to install solar power at 12 of these plants by the end of the year to reduce its carbon footprint by 25% compared to its 2010 levels. Such changes are extremely important to save the planet and its limited resources.
